When SWS application is
running, an error message
“system timed out” is
displayed.
Check all system modules and connections:
•
Verify that the source optics module is scanning.
•
Verify that the tunable laser source is scanning.
•
Check the ribbon connection at the back of the
receiver chassis. If it is plugged in properly:
•
Unplug it.
•
Verify that none of the connector pins are
damaged.
•
Reconnect the ribbon cable.
•
Restart the SWS application.
If the problem persists:
•
Verify that the SOM is scanning.
•
Verify that the tunable laser source is scanning.
•
With a power meter, measure the maximum power
going into the receiver control module. The correct
power is >-11 dBm.
•
Disconnect the fiber from the Signal Cond. Out
port.
•
With a power meter, measure the maximum power
going into the receiver control module. The correct
power is >-11 dBm.
•
If the power is not >-11 dBm, connect the receiver
to another SOM output port.
•
Measure the maximum power going into the
receiver control module.
If the problem persists, call the local JDS Uniphase
representative or the service hotline.
