3.7.4.1.8  Flow Stop Pull Test:

Open door verify black pinch clamp has been fully

retracted (Flow stop is closed) and Flow preventer

housing is retained in the gray/violet flow stop

carrier (IVP1047/AS120).

Note: If pull test fails (black flow preventer not fully

retracted) on a new 1000 series IV set, the IVP1068

Door Clamp Clip is worn and should be replaced.

Ref: AS112A drawing in Section 5, Assemblies and

Drawings.

3.8

Pump Calibration (3860+ and 3861)

From the service mode screen the Calibrate Pump Screen is accessed by

pressing the F1 (top function key on the left side of the display screen). This
screen is for displaying current pump calibration settings.
The Delay setting should be recorded for future reference should a repair
action cause loss of this Delay setting. This Delay setting is found during

factory calibration with the pump connected to a high accuracy calibrated

scale (Sartorius GD603) while the delivery profile at 1 ml/Hr is studied by
internal calibration software. Anytime the mechanical alignment of the

encoder wheel relative to the pumping finger position is changed or suspect (
pump block or motor replaced ), this calibration process must be performed.
The following is a description of the Pump calibration normally performed at
the factory on both the 3860+ and 3861 products. It is highly recommended

that should the 3860+ pump or 3861 SideCar require this calibration, that it
be returned to the factory.
If Calibration of pump is made in the field you will need a Sartorius GD603
and the SartoConnect software located in the Calibration Software Folder of

the 1125 Service CD.

3.8.1  Factory Pump Calibration:

Spike a vented bottle or bag of distilled water with a Vented/Non-

vented Administration Set (Check that the Roller Clamp is closed), hang

on the IV Solution Test Stand, prime the Set by opening the Roller

Clamp, flushing all air from IV Set. Note: IV Set must be changed at

least once per week. Ensure IV Set soft Silicon tubing is 5.75 +/- 1/8

inches long. Connect patient end of IV Set to Sartorius Scale. Install the

Administration Set into the 3860+/3861 to be calibrated and latch the

Door. Press and hold the CANCEL key, then press the Power On (I) key

to enter Service Mode.

3.8.1.1 Raw Curve Verification and Adjustment

Connect Scale RS232 Cable to I/O port at rear of Pump and

RS232 port of computer. Open Pump Door, select F1, and set

offset so the Pump Fingers are peaked four fingers from the

bottom of the Pump, when Pump is at index. Close Door.

Using SartoConnect data collection program select Data

Output, then Configuration Data, Application ASCII-Datei,

select "---" tile, again select ASCII-Datei, select "---" tile,
