Press power (I) on test Remote. If “No Communications” dis-
played, press MENU key, press (F6) soft key to select Next Menu, press
(F5) soft key to select Set Comm. Channel, then press (F1) soft key to
select Channel 1 and press Enter.
3.6.10.9
Check communication control between Pump and Remote as
follows:
3.6.10.9.1
On Remote, press (F1) soft key to highlight Rate,
then press Up arrow to set rate to 100 mL/hr, and
then ENTER. With VTBI highlighted press Up arrow
and set VTBI to 200 mL. Load IV Set in Pump, verify
Ready to Start is displayed on both Pump and
Remote. Press Start Channel A Remote and verify
green (run) LED is flashing on both Pump and
Remote.
3.6.10.9.2
Occlude inlet of IV Set above Pump and verify
Red Alarm LEDs are flashing and speaker Alarm
sounds on both Pump and Remote. Press ALARM
SILENCE key on remote, verify Alarm sound is
silenced, and Alarm LEDs stop flashing on both
Pump and Remote. Press Start Channel A Remote
and verify green (run) LED is flashing on both Pump
and Remote.
3.6.10.9.3
On Remote, press MENU key. Press (F1) soft key
to select Dose Rate Calculation and verify Dose Rate
A screen is displayed on both Pump and Remote.
Press CANCEL key.
3.6.10.9.4
On Remote press the (F3) soft key to select
Alarm Volume. Verify Alarm Volume screen is
displayed on Remote and “Adjusting the Remotes’
Alarm Volume” is displayed on the Pump. Verify
pressing the Remotes’ Down arrow key lowers the
volume and causes the displayed bar to move to the
left of the screen. Pressing Remotes’ Up arrow key
increases the volume and causes the displayed bar
to move to the right of the screen. Return displayed
bar to the center of screen, then press the ENTER
key.
3.6.10.9.5
On Pump, press the (F3) soft key to select Alarm
Volume. Verify Alarm Volume screen is displayed on
Pump and Adjusting the Pumps’ Alarm Volume is
displayed on the Remote. Pressing Pumps’ Up arrow
key increases the volume and causes the displayed
bar to move to the right of the screen. Verify
pressing the Pumps’ Down arrow key lowers the
volume and causes the displayed bar to move to the
left of the screen and at lowest alarm volume is still
audible. Return displayed bar to the center of
