3.2.6 Pump Flow Test.
Pump flow test can be preformed using a Infusion Pump Analyzer or a
graduated beaker. Place Pump on IV Pole with IVP1056 infusion set
connected to 1000 ML distilled water bag. Place output of IVP1056
infusion set into 100 ML empty graduated beaker or connect to Infusion
Pump Analyzer.
Load Primed infusion set (IVP1056) into Pump. Run the pump at a high
rate (1400 or 999 ML) insure there are no air bubbles traped in the Y
sites of the Infusion.
IF using graduated beaker be sure to empty after each flow test.
3.2.6.1
Set the Pump Rate to 1400 mL/hr., & VTBI >46.6 mL. Press
Start/Stop A on the Pump. Verify the pump is running as indicated by
the pulsing “>” in the upper portion of the display and Green flashing
LED in the top of the Door, and rate is set to 1400 mL/hr. Press Go in
the Infusion Analyser or monitor graduated beaker. The Pump will run
for approximately 2 min then go to KVO. Press Start/Stop A on the
Pump and verify average flow rate on infusion analyzer is 1400 ml +/-
5% or graduated beaker contains 46.6 ml +/- 5%. (44.27 - 48.93)
