C. Connect Pre-Conditioned Air (PCA) Duct (if required):
Required if PCA service is desired.
WARNING
THIS UNIT PRODUCES HIGH VOLUME LOW PRESSURE AIR. ENSURE PRE-
CONDITIONED AIR (PCA) SERVICE COUPLING IS ATTACHED SECURELY TO
THE AIRCRAFT. SERVICE PCA HOSE MAY DETACH FROM AIRCRAFT WHILE
UNIT IS OPERATING, CAUSING INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO
EQUIPMENT OR AIRCRAFT.
CAUTION
STRAIGHTEN PCA DELIVERY DUCT TO PREVENT SEVERE BENDS OR KINKS
THAT WOULD IMPEDE OR BLOCK THE AIR FLOW. FAILURE TO COMPLY
MAY CAUSE THE PCA DUCT TO RUPTURE OR PREVENT AN ADEQUATE
SUPPLY OF AIR FLOW TO THE AIRCRAFT.
(1) Remove PCA duct and service coupling from stowage location.
(2) Attach the service coupling to the aircraft receiver.
(3) Ensure all couplings, clamps, and connectors are secured/closed as
required.
D. Engine Start Procedure:
WARNING
PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO HAZARDOUS NOISE MAY RESULT IN
PERMANENT HEARING LOSS. EAR PROTECTION DEVICES MUST BE USED
WHEN WORKING WITHIN CLOSE PROXIMITY OF THIS EQUIPMENT WHILE
ENGINE/GENERATOR IS OPERATING.
(1) On Operator Control Station, set
OFF/GEN ON/FAN ON
selector switch to
GEN ON
. Genset engine will start; generator will produce power for
internal components. Blower and output cables are not energized.
(2) Wait 3-5 minutes for proper engine warm-up.
E. Air Conditioner Operations:
Perform the following if PCA service is desired.
(1) If required, perform
Connect Pre-Conditioned Air (PCA) Duct
procedure
(paragraph 2.C.), and then return to this procedure. Required if PCA duct
is not connected to aircraft.
