A. Preparation for Maintenance/Servicing:
Disable the unit to prevent accidental starting while maintenance/servicing is
being performed. (See Figure 1)
(1) On Operator Control Station, set the
OFF/GEN ON/FAN ON
selector
switch to
OFF
.
(2) Set the
VENT/COOL
selector switch to
VENT
.
(3) On Genset Control Panel, set
TEST/OFF/AUTO
toggle switch to
OFF
.
(4) On Generator Junction Box, set
MAIN CIRCUIT BREAKER
to
OFF
.
(5) On battery set, disconnect the negative ("-") cable terminal.
(6) Place appropriate OUT OF SERVICE - MAINTENANCE warning tags on
all controls configured in steps (1) through (5) above.
B. Return to Service
Perform the following when all unit maintenance/servicing is completed:
(1) Inspect interior of unit and remove all tools, rags, trash, etc.
(2) Remove all OUT of SERVICE - MAINTENANCE warning tags and
reconfigure switches/controls to their normal positions:
•
On battery set, reconnect the negative ("-") battery terminal.
•
On Generator Junction Box, set
MAIN CIRCUIT BREAKER
to
ON
.
•
On Genset Control Panel, set
TEST/OFF/AUTO
toggle switch to
OFF
.
•
On Operator Control Station, ensure
OFF/GEN ON/FAN ON
selector
switch is set to
OFF
.
•
Ensure
VENT/COOL
selector switch is set to
VENT
.
(3) Perform
Pre-Operational Inspection
procedure. (Refer to Section 1-2)
(4) When proper unit operation is confirmed, complete local RETURN TO
SERVICE procedures/documentation as required.
