G. Pre-Conditioned Air (PCA) System:
(1) The unit PCA system consists of an Air Conditioner (Refrigeration)
Assembly using a 7.5 horsepower blower motor (M1), internal air
directional chambers, discharge air duct, and an eight (8) inch x 30-foot
long flexible PCA hose for airflow delivery to the aircraft. (See Figure 6)
Electronic controls are located in the Electrical Controls Box (See Figure
7). All components require the genset as a power source. Unit PCA
functions are selected at the Operator Control Station. (See Figure 9)
(2) Air Conditioner (Refrigeration) Assembly (Dual 7.5-ton Compressors):
The air conditioner system (See Figure 6) is a single stage closed loop
circuit in which refrigerant is circulated by the differential pressure created
by dual 7.5-ton capacity compressors (M2, M4)). The compressors
maintain high side condensing pressure. A thermostatic expansion valve
separates the high-pressure side from the low-pressure (evaporator) side.
H. Electrical Controls Box:
The Electrical Controls Box houses the unit's air conditioning controls and
electrical interface components. The Electrical Controls Box is located behind
an access door located on the forward right side of the unit. (See Figures 1
and 7)
