C. Periodic Preventive Maintenance Schedules
Periodic inspection schedules (Refer to Tables 1 and 2) should be
established and maintained. A suggested inspection/check schedule is
provided below. The criteria listed meet the minimum requirements necessary
to ensure safe, reliable service under normal operating conditions. The
schedules may be modified as necessary to meet varying operating and
environmental conditions.

1. Inspect for signs of physical damage.

2. Inspect doors and hinges for damage.
Lubricate hinges, latches.

1. Inspect for signs of physical damage to
axles, tires, tow bars, and braking system.

2. Check tire inflation and wear.

3. Inspect tow bar and pintle hooks for proper
operation. Lubricate all hinged joints.

4. Lube wheel bearings and traces.

Control Panels
1. Inspect gauges, lights, and indicators for
missing or broken covers, lenses, or glass.

2. Inspect indicators for normal illumination.
Replace bulbs as required.

3. Inspect electrical panel doors or cover
plates for water-seal protection. Ensure splash
guards are in-place where required. Inspect
power panel ventilation systems for proper
operation and unobstructed airflow.
