b. Access the
SVC>
prompt. (See “Accessing the Service Recovery Prompt
(SVC>)” on page E-4.)
c. From the
SVC>
prompt:
1) TFTP code and configuration files from your network server to the
compact flash. (See “Transferring Files Using TFTP” on page E-20.) If
there is no backup copy of the configuration files on a network server,
the IBM 2212 must be reconfigured.
2) Using the copy command available at the
SVC>
prompt, copy the
contents into the other bank on the compact flash.
3) If you changed the boot settings (for example, boot from system card
flash), use the bootmode command and select
normal boot from
disk
.
4) Type reboot.
5) Verify the LEDs. See “LED Indicators” on page 1-2.
13. Notify the network administrator that you are finished repairing the IBM 2212.
Removing and Returning a Model 1xx Chassis with and without a Hard
Drive
1. Remove power from the IBM 2212 by unplugging the power cord.
2. Remove and keep:

The CPCI adapters using the instructions in “Exchanging a CPCI Adapter”
on page 2-10.

The hard drive, if one is installed. To do so:
a. Remove the IBM 2212 cover, using the instructions in “Removing the
Cover” on page 2-4.
b. Remove from the bottom of the chassis the four screws attaching the
hard drive to the chassis.
c. Disconnect the IDE cable and the power cable from the hard drive. Lift
out the hard drive.
d. Reinstall the cover on the chassis using the instructions in “Reinstalling
the Cover” on page 2-5.

The system card and its components using the instructions in either
“Exchanging a Standard System Card” on page 2-12 or “Exchanging a
High-Performance System Card” on page 2-14.
3. Record and keep the serial number from the chassis. When you receive a new
chassis you will need to reference this serial number.
4. Return the chassis as indicated in the warranty and maintenance agreement for
your country.
