Starting Diagnostics
The following example shows how to access the IBM 2212 diagnostics:
1. Unplug and replug the IBM 2212 to force it to reboot.

If the IBM 2212 is operating normally, it will automatically boot to the
OPCON prompt (*).

If the IBM 2212 is experiencing problems with the operating code, it will
boot to the
SVC>
prompt. Additionally, you may be asked to manually
access the
SVC>
prompt. To manually access it, see “Accessing the Service
Recovery Prompt (SVC>)” on page E-4.
Then, at either prompt, type diags and press Enter.
2. The Diagnostic Menu appears (Figure 6-1 ). To make your selection, type in
the number of your choice and press Enter.

DIAGNOSTIC MENU
Select from the following list of functions:
<1. The Device List>
shows operational and diagnostic status for each of the installed devices.
From this page you can also link to the Device Status and Control page
for each adapter.
<2. The Diagnostic Test History Log>
contains a summary of recent diagnostic testing activity.
<3. The Diagnostic Error Log>
contains error information for recent diagnostic tests that have
detected errors.
First time users should review the <4.Introduction> to using the diagnostics.
