| – The console configuration may be incorrect or the cable may be loose.
| 1. Verify that the cable is securely attached to the service port.
| 2. Verify that the ASCII terminal or emulator is configured according to the
| attributes described in “ASCII Terminal and Setup Attributes” on page 3-4.
| 3. Verify that the line speed of the ASCII terminal matches the line speed
| configured for the IBM 2212 service port. If you are unable to determine the
| correct speed:
| a. Set the terminal to a line speed of 19 200.
| b. Press the spacebar and then press Enter to restart the terminal or
| terminal emulator.
| 4. If the terminal does not display a readable message, reset the line speed
| and restart the terminal for each of the following speeds: 2400, 9600, 14 400,
| 28 800, 38 400, 57 600, 115 200.
