Solution
The MFP does not show
the Send folder in the
main menu, or the Send
button is grayed out.
The MFP is not pointing to an
HP DSS Workflow server.
Check the MFP configuration and
make sure that the Chai servlet is
pointing to the correct
HP DSS Workflow server. The MFP
is initializing and has not contacted
the server yet. The Chai servlet
initializes after the MFP initialization
is complete. Please wait a few
minutes. After initialization is
complete, the menus should appear
on the screen.
The e-mail (.eml) files
appear in the Reject
E-mail directory.
Note
Only applies to the
HP LaserJet 4100mfp
and 9000mfp.
The external SMTP gateway
(“external” means the SMTP
gateway that appears on the
list of the HP DSS Workflow
server) is a valid SMTP
server and is rejecting any
incoming e-mail.
This can result from any number of
factors, including the following
situations:
●
The e-mail address is not a valid
Internet e-mail address.
●
The SMTP gateway has no way of
handling the message and is
rejecting it.
Files are appearing in
the HOME
DIRECTORY\OUT
QUEUE.
Note
Only applies to the
HP LaserJet 4100mfp
and 9000mfp.
The HP DSS Workflow is
attempting to contact
outgoing SMTP gateways
(the server list appears as
part of the component
configuration) and none of
the SMTP gateways are
functioning.
The OUT QUEUE directory is the
retry directory for the
HP DSS Workflow server. As long as
the server has not been able to
correctly contact the gateways and
send e-mail, it continues the sending
attempts until all e-mails have been
sent.
During installation, an
exception appears on
the MFP
Note
This issue only applies
to the HP LaserJet
4100mfp and 9000mfp.
The current release of jar-
loader utilities requires a
device reboot after each MFP
Chai jar file is loaded.
Follow the instructions in the
installation guide and reboot the
device after each MFP Chai jar file is
loaded.
