Delayed
a horizontal mode that
gives an expanded view of the main
sweep.
Delayed sweep
is the oscilloscope
display function that magnifies the
contents of sample memory. Use de-
layed sweep to zoom in on a portion
of the waveform and pan and zoom
through it to examine it in greater de-
tail.
Display
allows selection of either
normal, peak detect, or averaged dis-
play modes. It also allows selection
of vectors on/off and provides grid
choices.
Display memory
is also called
pixel memory. The display memory
is part of the display subsystem, and
is located in the waveform RAM. A
data-to-waveform conversion gate ar-
ray is provided to convert the data
and display the acquisition. Also see
“Autostore.”
Duty cycle
can be measured using
time measurements. The oscillo-
scope measures the period and
positive width, and then calculates
the duty cycle by dividing the period
into the pulse width and multiplying
the result by 100%.
Edge trigger
is a single rising or
falling edge (or either) that must be
recognized on an input channel to
satisfy the trigger condition.
Erase
clears the current display
and acquisition memory.
External Trigger
is a non-
viewable input to the HP 54645A
used only as a trigger source.
External trigger input
allows
you to trigger the HP 54645A oscillo-
scope from another instrument or
another signal in the circuit under
test.
Field 1
triggers on the field 1 por-
tion of the video signal.
Field 2
triggers on the field 2 por-
tion of the video signal.
Frequency
can be measured using
time measurements. The oscillo-
scope selects the first and third
transitions at the left side of the vis-
ible display, measures the period as
the delta time between these two
transitions, then calculates the fre-
quency as the reciprocal of the
period.
Glitch Detection
See Peak Detec-
tion.
