Check the Baud rate. Select the highest Baud rate setting available for your computer
from the drop-down list, then click
OK
.
Installing the SUU
The SUU runs on a PC with Windows 95/98/NT operating systems. To install the
application:
1.
Insert the RAS CD in the CD drive of your PC.
2.
Use Windows Explorer to open the SUU folder.
3.
Locate the
Setup.exe
file and double-click it.
4.
Follow the instructions on your computer screen to install the program.
Attaching the SUU Cable
Before you can use the SUU, you must connect your HRDV16/8 to your PC using a serial
RS232 cable. This is not a standard serial cable.
Note

for the proper pin assignment.
1.
Connect one end of the null modem cable to the COM1 or COM2 serial port on your
PC.
2.
Connect the other end of the null modem cable to Text Insertion Port 1 on the back of
your HRDV16/8 unit.
Downloading Software Using SUU
To download the most current software update:
1.
Start the Software Update Utility application by double-clicking on the shortcut that
was placed on your desktop during installation.
OR
Start the application using the Windows Start menu on the taskbar (
Start
➤
Programs
➤
Gyyr
➤
Software Update Utility
).
2.
After the SUU starts, select
Action
➤
Connect
from the main menu. If you attached
the null modem cable to the serial port labeled COM1 on your PC, select COM 1 in the
Connect To window. Select COM 2 if you used the serial port labeled COM2. Click
Connect
to connect your PC to the HRDV16/8 unit.
3.
Select
File
➤
Download File
from the SUU main menu. In the Open File window,
browse through your PC directories to locate the HRDV16/8 software file
(
DDI#_##G.bin
). Double-click the file or highlight it and click
Open
.
The download takes a few minutes. A progress meter displays on the monitor to keep
you informed of the progress.
To cancel the download, press any button on the front panel of the HRDV16/8. This
will not harm the unit or its original software image.
