A disk icon appears indicating that the clip has been selected for archiving.
If you begin archiving a clip and change your mind, press any control button on the
HRDV16/8 front panel to abort the archive recording.
Note
Archived clips are not removed from the regular drives; they are copied.
Archiving Clips to a Removable Drive
There are four ways to archive (copy) images to a removable drive:

During playback of a clip, press
MENU
to activate archiving of the clip being
displayed.

Manually save previously recorded clips as discussed in

Create a report, set up the run report automatically to copy to disk, select the report
created, and set the time to archive. For more information, see
.

Use the RAS software to save the clip to a computer disk. The saved clip (if not too
large) could then be burned to a CD, copied to a Zip disk, or e-mailed. Refer to the
for detailed information.
Hot Swapping the Removable Drive
The Hot Swap feature allows you to take out a removable hard drive from the HRDV unit
without having to power down the HRDV.
To activate this option:
1.
Press

. This closes the drive and displays the message
Remove your hot swap drive now, hit OK after you have inserted a
new drive
.
2.
Power off the front panel drive with the key.
3.
Remove the drive.
4.
Insert the new drive.
5.
Power on the front panel drive with the key.
