Archive Operation

You can save (copy) clips or images to a CD-ROM drive, removable drive, or to a VCR.
When you save clips to a CD, an executable Viewer will automatically be saved to enable
playback on almost any Windows PC with a CD-ROM drive.

This chapter describes how to:

•

Save clips to a CD-ROM drive

•

Archive clips to a removable drive

•

Archive clips to a VCR

•

Format the archive drive

Note

When video is saved to an installed CD-RW in the HRDV, an evidence viewer
program is automatically added (see

Viewing the Video Evidence

).

Saving Clips to a CD-ROM Drive

There are three methods to save clips to a CD-ROM drive:

•

From Go To

•

From clip lists

•

During playback of an individual clip

All Methods: Prepare CD-ROM Drive

1.

Ensure that the CD-ROM drive is properly installed and configured as an archive
drive. On the Disk Setup screen, select the CD-ROM drive in the Select Archive
Drive field—usually Disk 4.

2.

Insert a new, blank, recordable CD into the CD-ROM drive.
