Connecting a Device
Connect a ProView 7000™ device to enable the EMS to monitor and control the device. A
disconnected ProView 7000™ device is marked in the device list by a grayed device icon.
To connect a ProView 7000™ device to the EMS:
1. Right-click the ProView 7000™ device icon in the Devices box.
A device context menu displays.
2. Select
Connect
.
If the device fails to connect, the device LEDs in the Devices box are red, perform the
procedure in
6.8 Checking Device Connectivity
If the ping fails and the device fails to connect, check your network connections and
settings.
Once connection is established, the device icon LEDs are green.

Checking Device Connectivity
You can ping any ProView 7000™ device managed by the EMS disregarding its status.
To test the device connectivity:
1. Right-click the icon of the ProView 7000™ device in the Devices box.
A Device context menu displays.
