Network Wiring
Network Wiring
The L-S series panels are connected to the CM-4000 System Controller via
Ethernet or a Serial connection. Maximum length of a LAN (Cat5 cable)
connection is 329 feet (100 meters). The LAN must be capable of per-
forming 100 Mb operations, and each Ethernet segment (hub to panel) has
a 100 meter limit. See
Figure 11 .

Button Labels
Most L-S series panels are supplied with “typical use” button labels already
installed. Additional buttons can be labeled in the field. Two resources are
available for labels:
• A pre-printed/pre-cut transparency keycap label sheet is supplied with
each panel. See
Keycap Transparency Labels
on page 46 .
• Microsoft Word files are available for creating custom labels. For more
information, contact Grass Valley Technical Support.
