5.1 Important Information
☞
Analyzer calibration is actually achieved by entering the
specific required sensor data during initial setup:
•
For GLI sensors mounted in a pipe tee, that data is the
tee size and tee material.
•
For GLI sensors installed in a pipe using a weldolet,
pipe saddle or ball valve assembly, that data is the
entered pipe ID.
•
For non-GLI sensors (regardless of mounting), that
data is the sensor’s unique slope and offset values
(determined by calculation).
Anytime after the required sensor data is entered, the
CALIBRATE menu can be used to linearly offset measured
flow readings by entering a:
•
Positive or negative offset value using the OFFSET BY
menu screens.
•
Known measurement value from another flow measur-
ing device using the SET TO menu screens.
CAUTION
CALIBRATION ADJUSTMENT SHOULD ONLY BE
CONSIDERED WHEN ANALYZER READINGS NEED
TO MATCH A USER-SUPPLIED “QUALIFIED REFER-
ENCE” FLOW INSTRUMENT.
See Section 5.2 for details on calibration adjustment. You
can also calibrate the mA values for each analog output.
Refer to Section 5.3 for details.
NOTE:
When the passcode feature is enabled (Section
4.7), you must successfully enter the passcode
before attempting a “calibration adjustment.”
Also, an in-progress “calibration adjustment” can
always be aborted by pressing the
MENU key
.
