The following table describes the purpose and location of safety labels and other important information
provided on the equipment.

Used to indicate the degree of safety or
protection.

Equipment Type BF (man in the box
symbol) IEC 878-02-03 indicates B Type
equipment having a floating applied part.
Probe connectors including Doppler probe
connector
Equipment Type CF (heart in the box
symbol) IEC 878-02-05 indicates
equipment having a floating applied part
having a degree of protection suitable for
direct cardiac contact.
