7.2 Accessing Remote Management

Service
- Allowed to view and change information on the ETERNUS CS800 remote
management console.
Password changes are not allowed
l
LDAP/AD
- Allows users assigned system access through a Lightweight Directory
Access Protocol (LDAP) or Active Directory (AD) server to log into the ETERNUS
CS800 remote management console.
LDAP/AD must be enabled on the
LDAP/AD
page for this login type to appear (see
).
Passwords are limited to 32 characters. Alphanumeric characters and special
characters are allowed. Passwords of the local accounts can be changed on the
Access Control
page (see
).
4. Click

5. If you log in as a user assigned to the Admin role (local or LDAP) and there were
previous unsuccessful ETERNUS CS800 logins, a dialog box appears indicating the
previous number of unsuccessful login attempts for both the current account and all
accounts on the ETERNUS CS800(see Figure).

View Admin Log
to access the
Administrative Activity Log
page (see
).
Accessing the
Administrative Activity Log
page will cause the security
message banner and service ticket banner (if applicable) to not display.

Click
Reset Counts
to reset the unsuccessful login count to zero.

If you log in as a user assigned to the Service (local) or Monitor role (local or LDAP)
and there were previous unsuccessful ETERNUS CS800 logins, a dialog box appears
indicating the previous number of unsuccessful login attempts (see Figure). Click
