Installing external accessories
Protecting the end positions against uncontrolled overrunning:
•
Check whether proximity switches are necessary (as safety limit switches or hardware limit
switches).
If you are using proximity switches (sensors):
Note
The proximity switch can only be fastened with the following alignment.
•
Only fit proximity switches with the cable outlet in the direction of the piston rod.
•
Use proximity switches with normally-closed function.
These will protect the DNCE against overrunning the end position if the proximity switch cable is
broken.
•
When positioning proximity switches please note that the magnet is situated asymmetrically on the
inner slide (directly on the bearing cover in the extended end position; offset inwards in the retrac-
ted end position).
•
Use the slots

(
Fig. 1).
•
Avoid external influence caused by magnetic or ferrite parts in the vicinity of the proximity sensors.
(at least 20 mm away from ferritic parts).
To prevent contamination:
•
Use cover rails (slot covers
10 Accessories) in all unused slots.

Installing circuitry
Note
If used in safety relevant applications, additional measures are necessary, e. g. in
Europe the standards listed under the EU machine guidelines must be observed.
Without additional measures in accordance with statutory minimum requirements, the
product is not suitable for use in safety-related sections of control systems.
