3.1.1 Cable selection for field bus line
A twisted screened two-wire line must be used for the field
bus line. Select the cable type from the controller manual.
Take into consideration distance and field bus baud rates.
3.1.2 Cable selection for power supply
Several parameters must be considered in the connection of
both power supplies. Further information can be found in the
following chapters:
– Calculation of power consumption, layout of power sup-
ply unit: Chapter 3.3.1 “Calculation of power consump-
tion”
– Line length and cross section: Chapter 3.3 “Connection of
power supply”
– Determination of line length and cross section using
tables or equations: Appendix A.2
