3.1.3 Connecting the cable to the plug/sockets

Caution

The position of pins in plugs and sockets varies.

– The input and output connections are designed as

sockets.

– The connections for the power supply are designed as

plugs.

The pin assignments can be found in the following
chapters.

After selecting a suitable cable, connect it to the plug/socket
following the steps below:

1. Open the Festo plug/socket as follows (see figure):

– Power supply socket:

Insert the power supply socket into the power supply
connection of the valve terminal. Unscrew the socket
housing. Remove the connection part of the socket
inserted in the power supply connection.

– Sensor plug (for input/output modules):

Loosen the central knurled nut.
