4.1.3 Address assignment after extension/conversion
A special feature of the multifunctional valve terminal is its
flexibility. If the demands made to the machine change, the
equipment fitted on the valve terminal can also be changed.
Caution
If the valve terminal is extended or converted at a later
stage, the input/output addresses may be shifted. This
applies in the following cases:
– when one or several pneumatic sub-bases are added or
removed at a later stage (types 03/04-B).
– Type 03: when a pneumatic sub-base for two single-
solenoid valves is replaced by a sub-base for two
double-solenoid valves or vice versa.
– Type 04-B when a pneumatic sub-base for one single-
solenoid valve is replaced by a sub-base for a double-
solenoid valve or vice versa.
– when additional input/output modules are added be-
tween the node and the existing input/output modules.
– when existing input/output modules are removed or
replaced by input/output modules which occupy fewer
or more input/output addresses.
If the configuration of the inputs is modified, the addresses of
the status bits may be shifted.
