The Sonic-Ski

®

 plus 

SKIS-1500

 is a distance measurement 

sensor and operates with five ultrasonic sensors. A sixth 
sensor is used for temperature compensation. 
On sensing the ground, a mean value is formed from the 
values measured by the five ultrasonic sensors of the Sonic-
Ski

 plus. 

 

 

 

In the case of cable sensing, the Sonic-Ski

 plus is not only 

able to measure the distance from the reference, but can 
additionally detect the position of the cable or an edge 
beneath the sensor heads over its entire working width of 
approx. 25 cm.
