Push down on the sides of the ring so that the ring forms to the shape of the cover then move the ring back
to the narrow part of the tunnel, make sure it is oriented correctly and push it down to the tunnel to shape
the ring more. It will spring back a bit to the correct shape.

Reposition the ring so it is centered on the shifter point and mark the inside of the ring on the tunnel
cover.
