3.4.5.2 Equipment required
Dilutor:

Flow rate controllers: must allow control of the flow rates at

1 %.

Flow meters: must allow reading and recording of the flow rates at

2 %.

Mixing chamber: its shape and volume must allow a homogeneous mixture of NO
2
and dilution air.
Manifold:
It must comprise at least one outlet for the analyzer and one outlet for the excess flow. The outlet of
the analyzer must be of a sufficient diameter to not create pressure losses at the analyzer outlet. The
outlet for the excess flow (at least 20 % of the total flow rate) must be designed so that the pressure
inside the manifold is very close to atmospheric pressure (no overpressure) and the ambient air
cannot diffuse inside the manifold.
Dilution air (zero air):
Zero air generator or synthetic air cylinder free of any contaminant likely to be measured by the
analyzer, and with a NO
2
concentration that does not exceed 0,0005 ppm.
Span gas (NO
2
):
Certified cylinder of NO
2
in air at 2 % is needed. The cylinder concentration must allow generation of
six concentration steps between 15 % and 90 % of full scale of the measurement range used.
3.4.5.3 Procedure

Put the analyzer under voltage at least 6 hours before carrying out calibration.

Configure the analyzer as follows (recommended configuration) :
