2.6 ETHERNET OUTPUT AND USB PORT (DNP-ARM7 BOARD)
The DNP-Arm7 board is a rapid calculation and interfacing (communication) board for the
measurement modules of the 2M series. The standard assembly for these analyzers includes an
Ethernet output (RJ45 socket) and a USB port on the rear panel.
Communication with the DNP-Arm7 board and the other electronic boards as module board, RS4i
board, optional i2C boards is carried out as shown in Figure 2–7 below.
The module board acquires the measurements and operation parameters of the analyzer. These
signals are sent to the DNP-Arm7 board through a digital interface (communication bus). The DNP-
Arm7 board microprocessor carries out the digital data processing, enables the automatic control of
the various elements of the analyzer, and manages the user interface consisting of a keyboard and a
display mounted in front of the DNP-Arm7 board. The DNP-Arm7 board also manages the outside
communication with the following components:

RS4i board of RS232/RS422 digital link: connected to the DNP-Arm7 board through a digital
interface (communication bus). As the analyzer is equipped with an Ethernet output and a USB
port on the rear panel (DNP-Arm7 board present in the analyzer), only the COM1 port is available
for outside communication; COM2 is dedicated to the link with the module board.

USB port (refer to the USB Flash drive document in Appendix C.

Ethernet network link: the Ethernet connector is mounted directly on the DNP-Arm7 board and is
connected to the rear panel of the analyzer (RJ45 socket) using an appropriate cable. The
Ethernet network communication uses the UDP protocol.

Optional i2C boards (ESTEL): these are connected to the DNP-Arm7 board through an
i2C communication bus. These boards enable the analyzer to manage analog inputs/outputs,
relays, and remote controls.
