3.3.4.6.2 CONFIGURATION
Communications
Network configuration
This screen enables configuration of the network connection. Two choices of boot protocol are offered:
DHCP or Static.
Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is a network communication protocol whose function is to
ensure the automatic configuration of the Internet Protocol (IP) parameters of a computer, in particular
by automatically assigning an IP address and a sub network mask. Using the DHCP protocol enables
automatic configuration of the gateway address. When the DHCP protocol is selected,
the user can only
access and modify two fields,
Boot protocol
and
Validate
, as shown on the screen below:
When the Static protocol is selected
,
the IP address is individually assigned by the user.
Consequently, the user can access and modify the following five fields:
Boot protocol
,
IP address
,
Mask
,
Gateway
,
Validate
.
The IP address is indicated in decimal notation with four numbers, with each of the four numbers being
between 0 and 255, and separated by points.
The Gateway is a device that allows linking of two different data-processing networks through a router
as, for example, a local network and the Internet network.
The
Validate
field switched to ON or OFF enables the selection of the communication protocol and, if
necessary, the set parameters to be either valid or not valid,.
NOTE :
Whichever protocol is selected, either DHCP or Static, the field value (
Mac address
) is
specific to the DNP-Arm7 board mounted in the analyzer and cannot be modified.
Consequently, this field value (
Mac address
) enables to identify this board.
Function of keys specific to this screen:
The [
] key allows modification of the selected field. The [
] and [
] keys are used to browse the
menus and select from lists and the [
] key returns to the previous screen.
