3.1 INITIAL START-UP
Before delivery, the analyzer is checked and spanned, and its calibration verified in factory.
3.1.1 PRELIMINARY OPERATIONS
Installation inside a measurement shelter
The AS32M has to be installed in a climate-controlled area to be protected from bad weather. The
room temperature must be kept between 10 and 35 °C. It is necessary to leave a free space of at least
10 cm (4 in.) between the rear panel and the wall behind the analyzer to ensure adequate air
circulation to allow sufficient cooling by the internal fan.
Start-up
Start-up involves the following preliminary operations:

Visually examine the inside of the instrument to make sure no damage occurred during transport.

Fluid connections(Refer to Figure 3-2):

Remove the caps from the gas inlets (1) (2) (3) and gas outlet (4) on the rear panel. (Set aside
for future storage, see section 1.2.4.3 of Chapter 1).

Make sure a Teflon filter diaphragm is inside the dust filter, and then connect the air sampling
tube to the sample inlet (1).

Connect a tube to the gas outlet (4) of the AS32M to vent the pump exhaust outside the room.
No scrubbing filter is necessary here, since the gas has no toxic components (such as ozone).

A clogged or obstructed pump exhaust can damage the pump. Always make sure the exhaust
outlet is connected to an open vent line at atmospheric pressure.

All tubes must be made of FEP Teflon, 316 stainless steel, or borosilicate glass and have an
internal diameter of 4 mm and an external diameter of 6 mm.
