6.6

Create archives manually

There are three major differences between manually created archives and automatically
created archives:

•

Manual archives only include information already in the CSI 2600. Automatically-
generated archives can include information which is received after the transient
collection predicate = TRUE.

•

Manual archives do not automatically have a date-time stamp appended to them.
Ensure that unique names are assigned.

•

Manual archives may have more than one hour of measurements in them.
Automatically generated archives have a maximum of 60 minutes of
measurements.

Procedure

In Online Watch, select a component that has transient signals.

Right-click and select

Start Transient Archive

Define the manual archive characteristics.

Postrequisites

Observe the progress of manual archives in the Transient Archive Status tab.

Disable archive predicates

An analyst can disable the creation of automatic archives during startup or when the
machine is being cycled and multiple archives are not desired.

Procedure

In the Transient Status tab, right-click on the archive predicate and select

Disable

Archive Predicate

A caution window appears.

Click

Okay

to confirm disabling.

The predicate State on the Transient Status tab reads

Disabled

To re-enable the archive, right-click on the archive predicate and select

Enable Archive

Predicate

Example: Archive creation

When an archive predicate changes from

DISABLED

TRUE

, no archive is created.

Consider the following sequence:

Archive predicate is false.

Archive predicate is disabled prior to machinery start-up.
