Install the firmware on the FTP server

Prerequisites

You need the AMS Machinery Manager Software Installation DVD.

Procedure

Log on to the computer that hosts the FTP Server for your CSI Machinery Health
Monitor.

Insert the AMS Machinery Manager Software Installation DVD.

Open the DVD in Windows Explorer and browse to

Install/Online Firmware

Double-click

setup.exe

and continue through the installation.

Important

On Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008, right click

setup.exe

and select

Run as administrator

Accept the license agreement.

Select the type of installation.

•

Select Typical to install the firmware and tools.

•

Select Custom to choose to install either the firmware or the tools.

Follow instructions presented by the installation program.

The online firmware is installed in

C:\Inetpub\ftproot\bin\

Postrequisites

Cycle the power on each CSI Machinery Health Monitor that uses this FTP server.

Reboot the CSI Machinery Health Monitor

Cycle power on the CSI Machinery Health Monitor and verify the system is in good status
after it boots.

Procedure

Cycle the power on each CSI Machinery Health Monitor that needs to get the new
firmware update from the FTP server.

Wait approximately 5 minutes for the system to complete the boot process.

Verify the system is powered on and in good status.

Refer to the Installation Manual for your specific hardware model for more
information.

Check the firmware version in AMS Machinery Manager

Log on to AMS Machinery Manager Client with the Administrator user account or a
user that has permission to use online technology.
