Fabric Zoning

Backing Up Zoning Configurations

As long as a Zip disk is kept in the Zip drive on the Connectrix 
service processor, configuration data and other critical information is 
backed up to the disk automatically when the data directory contents 
change or the Connectrix service processor is rebooted. This function 
is handled through the Iomega® QuickSync™ application, and is 
described in more detail in Backing Up and Restoring Connectrix 
Manager Data on page 2-42.

You can back up the nonvolatile random access memory (NV-RAM) 
configuration only, which includes the active zone set and default 
zone state, using the Backup and Restore Configuration option. This 
option, available through the Maintenance icon pop-up menu, backs 
up the configuration data to a file on the Connectrix service processor 
hard drive or diskette. The restore function writes this data back to 
NV-RAM on the director, overwriting the existing configuration. For 
more information, refer to the director’s Product Manager user guide.
