Method of Cenering the Lamp Filament for the DS
The filament position of the 6V lamp for the DS is not always aligned at the center of the lamp. At present,
it is very difficult to position the filament at the center of the lamp in manufacturing the lamps.
Therefore, each time the lamp is replaced, the lamp filament must be aligned at the center of the lamp.
However, the DS does not have a device for aligning the filament, so the lamp socket must be turned so as to
align the filament at the center of the lamp.

Alignment Procedures (easy adjusting method of alignment)
(1)
Place a sheet of paper (on which two sets of cross lines are marked at an interval of 40mm and circles of
10mm diameter drawn around the centers of the cross lines) on the stage surface. The corner of an IC chip
of the wafer can also be utilized for adjustment.
(2)
When the lamp is lit, green spots of light can be seen on the back of the sheet of paper or on the upper
surface of the IC chip. Then, turn the lamp socket for adjustment.
(3)
If the lamp filament is misaligned and the lamp socket is turned, the light spot will trace a circle.
−
The adjustment is well made when the light spots are aligned near the centers of the crossed lines (Fig.
J-7).
−
Even if the light spots are not aligned at the centers of the crossed lines, the adjustment is passably
well made when both spots are horizontally aligned (Fig. J-8).
