If the O
ximeter is not connected properly, “Cable Disconnected” and “Sensor Off” messages
appear. The status indicator is displayed in red.
•
If the sensor is not positioned properly, the “Sensor Off” message appears. The status indicator is
displayed in red.
•
If the sensor does not track the pulse reliably, check the following:
o
The sensor may be positioned incorrectly.
o
The sensor site may be too thick or thin.
o
The sensor site may be deeply pigmented.
o
The sensor site may be too deeply colored to permit appropriate light transmission for the test
(possibly caused by externally applied coloring such as nail polish, dye, or pigmented cream).
4. Select either Auto (default) or Manual test:
•
The Auto setting automatically completes a test in 5 seconds.
•
The Manual setting runs the test until you tap STOP.
If Respiratory Rate (RR) is not acquired, the test will not complete; tap the back arrow icon to return to
the previous screen and re-attempt the test.
