3. Apply the Pass Criteria to the test:
International standards for automated NIBP devices require that the pressure must not exceed:
•
300 mmHg on adults and pediatric patients
•
150 mmHg on neonatal patients with a tolerance of 10 % for 15 seconds, or greater than 10 % for
3 seconds.
Overpressure pass criteria for the IDM100 Medical Tablet:
•
Adults, Pediatrics 300 mmHg ± 10 mmHg
•
Neonates 150 mmHg ± 5 mmHg
4. Understand the role of volume:
•
Volume is added to the pneumatic system so that the user has more control of the pressure
increments when using the hand bulb.
•
Overpressure errors may result if no volume is added.
To perform an Overpressure Test in Adult/Pediatric Mode:
1. Select
Adult/Pediatric
.
2.
Connect a manometer, volume, and the hand bulb to the module using “T” adapters.
3. Tap
START
to close the Control Valve and the Dump Valve. Ensure that the Hand Bulb Exhaust Valve
is closed.
