4.5.9

<Spec>, <Log>

  PURPOSE

To view and/or clear the PPC4 event log (see Section 3.2.27.5).

  OPERATION

To view the event log press

<Spec>

<Log>

 and

to move back and forth between older and newer log entries.

Each log entry has two screens, one with the event description and one with the even time and
date.

and

to toggle between the two screens. The oldest logged event appears.

After the last log has been viewed, the option to clear the log,

<No>

<Yes>

is presented.

<Yes>

 to

remove all entries from the log.

<No>

 to continue without altering the log.

 to leave the log.

4.5.10  <ARange>

  PURPOSE

To automatically set up PPC4 to optimize its measurement and control characteristics and
features to cover a specific pressure range (see Section 3.2.8).

  OPERATION

To use the AutoRange function, press

<ARange>

  from the Main Menu and respond to the

PPC4’s prompts.

Select AutoRange measurement mode:

  The screen is identical in appearance and

function to the

<Mode>

 screen (see Section 4.5.15).  The choice of measurement modes

offered reflects all the Q-RPT types available (Axxx, Gxxx, BGxxx) in the PPC4 system,
not just the active Q-RPT.

Select pressure unit of measure:

  The screen is identical in appearance and function to

the

<Unit>

 screen (see Section 4.5.13).

Enter  the AutoRange full scale pressure: Enter  the full scale pressure value in the
<------>

entry field and

.  If the full scale pressure entered cannot be covered by any of

the Q-RPTs available, an error message is displayed.  If the full scale pressure can be
covered by an available Q-RPT, AutoRange proceeds to the range display.

 Caution

RPM4 with Q-RPT full scale spans below 14 MPa have SDS self defense
system to isolate and protect the Q-RPTs.  If an external RPM4 SDS
pressure rating is less than the PPC4 maximum pressure then AutoRanged
ranges greater than the SDS rating are not allowed (see Sections 3.2.5,
6.5.4, 3.2.8).  In order to create AutoRanged ranges or generate pressures
above the SDS pressure rating the RPM4 must be disconnected or the
RPM4 SDS must be upgraded to a higher pressure rating.  Upgrades may
be done at the DH Instruments service center (see Table 36).
