Before installing the DayStar Turbo 040, you
must remove the original M acintosh MC68020
CPU chip and AMU. (Some Mac IIs have a
PMMU instead of an AMU. Follow the same
procedure for either chip.) Find the Pin Grid
Array (PGA) puller for rem oving these chips in
the Mac II adapter box.

1. Remove the w in g nut from the top of the
PGA puller. Separate the puller into three
parts: the outer tool, the inner tool and the
w ing nut.
