2. Replace the case cover and screw. Attach all
cables you have removed. Now you are
ready to install the software. Please go to
Chapter 9, “Installing the Turbo 040
Software.”
NO! I DO NOT hear the “BONG”.
There is no response w hen the M acintosh Ilsi
is turned on.
or
A different sound (the failure tone) is heard
w hen power is turned on.
If you experience any of the above, remove the
power cord from the back of the Mac Ilsi.
Then, do the following:
1. Review the instructions and verify proper
installation. Then,
• Squeeze the Turbo 040 and adapter board
together.
• Push dow n on the adapter to verify a good
connection with the motherboard PDS
socket.
2. Plug the power cord into the back of the
M acintosh Ilsi and restart as before.
If the startup process continues to fail, the
board may have been dam aged during installa­
tion or shipment. Contact your com puter deal­
er or call DayStar Technical Support (9 am to 6
