2.6.2 Packet Filter
This function enables the Residential Gateway to filter out the unwanted packets according to the
IP address, the source MAC address or the application protocol. So the network administrator can
set up the access policies on the Residential Gateway.
Select
Packet Filter
in the sub menu bar of
Security
. Then,
Packet Filter
screen page appears
as follows:
Packet Filter Rule
Enable or disable the packet filter function. When it is enabled, the
Residential Gateway will drop packets which meet predetermined conditions of the rules in the
following sections.
WAN Filter
This section allows you to edit the WAN filter rules. The WAN filter rule will block
packets which are received by the Residential Gateway from the public network and match the
pre-determined condition of the rule. Below is an explanation for each column of the rule table.
