SENSOR NOT CONNECTED
accompanied by alarm tone
1
Disconnect at preamplifier or sensor
(patient). No rSO
2
value will appear.
Check sensor to reusable sensor
cable connection.
Check sensor cable connection
to the preamplifier.
EXCESSIVE LIGHT accompa-
nied by alarm tone
2
Sensor has lifted off the patient, or
there is too much outside light. No
rSO
2
will appear.
Check the connection to patient
and replace sensor, if necessary. If
the sensor is properly adhered to
the patient, try loosely draping
the sensor.
POOR SIGNAL QUALITY
accompanied by alarm tone
3
INVOS™ system is operating, but rSO
2
values will not appear because they
are unstable or may be corrupted by
a noisy power source or a very weak
signal.
Try another hospital-grade elec-
trical outlet.
Relocate sensor, if possible.
PREAMP NOT CONNECTED
11
Preamplifier is not connected to the
INVOS™ system monitor.
Make sure the preamplifier con-
nector is locked into the side of
the monitor. Normal operation of
the INVOS™ system will resume
when the preamplifier is recon-
nected.
REPLACE SENSOR
17
INVOS™ system cannot read calibra-
tion data from the sensor. Mixed
adult, pediatric, and neonatal sensor
models, moisture intrusion, a defec-
tive sensor, or a defective reusable
sensor cable could cause this.
Sensor has reached the end of its
useful life.
Check that all sensor models in
use match.
Connect new sensor.
Replace reusable sensor cable.
