Reusable Sensor Cable
The reusable sensor cables are intended for multiple use and should not be discarded.
Connect the reusable sensor cables to the preamplifier (see
Caution:
Make certain to connect the sensor cables as follows: Cable 1 to the preamplifier connector
marked 1, cable 2 to the preamplifier connector marked 2, cable 3 to the preamplifier connector
marked 3, and cable 4 to the preamplifier connector marked 4.
To remove the reusable sensor cable, grip the connector while pulling straight out. Do not pull or
twist the cable.

Caution:
Sensors do not need to be removed for x-ray or CT scan. However, sensors will appear on image.
Sensors must be removed for MRI.
3.15.1
Sensor Preuse Check
WARNING:
The disposable INVOS™ adult regional saturation sensor and pediatric regional saturation sensor
are designed for use with the INVOS™ system. Use of these sensors with any other device may
compromise patient safety.
Remove the sensor from the package and examine for visual signs of damage. If any signs of
damage are observed, select another sensor.

Sensor Lot Number
The sensor lot number appears on the individual sensor packaging.
3.15.3
Sensor Cerebral Site Selection
Select the sensor site on the right and left of forehead. Placement of the sensor in other cerebral
locations, or over hair, may cause inaccurate readings, erratic readings, or no readings at all. Do
not place the sensor over nevi, sinus cavities, the superior sagittal sinus, subdural or epidural
