MANAGEMENT
6.1
Introduction
The base modem is equipped with an RJ-45, 10/100 BaseT Ethernet management interface used
for monitor and control purposes.
This chapter of the manual will provide a high-level overview of the functionality provided by
this interface and references other chapters for further details.
6.2
Ethernet Management Interface Protocols
The modem 10/100BaseT Ethernet Management Interface supports three (3) different
management protocols:
•
SNMP with public and private MIB
•
Telnet interface for remote product M&C
•
Web Server interface for complete product management
6.3
SNMP Interface
The
Simple Network Management Protocol
(SNMP) is an application-layer protocol designed to
facilitate the exchange of management information between network devices. The CDM-625
SNMP agent supports both SNMPv1 and v2c.
IMPORTANT
For proper SNMP operation, the CDM-625 MIB files must be used with the
associated version of the CDM-625 modem M&C. Please refer to the CDM-625
FW Release Notes for information on the required FW/SW compatibility.
