The ESC (Engineering Service Channel) is determined by the framing type selected under
CONFIG: Mode.
The two options are either
High-Rate IBS ESC,
or
ESC++.

. The user may select:
•
On or Off
•
RS-232 or RS485
•
Baud rate (range depends on other configuration parameters, see below)
•
Character format (number of data bits, parity, number of stop bits):
8-None-1
,
7-Even-2
or
7-Odd-2
.
The High Rate IBS (Engineering Service Channel) requires the Open Network FAST option.
When enabled, the lower of the Tx or Rx primary data rate, according to the table below, limits
the maximum baud rate. Both Tx and Rx framing must be configured as IBS for this feature to be
enabled. See
Chapter 14. OPEN NETWORK OPERATIONS
for more information on Open
Network framing.

ESC++ is available as standard. When enabled, the lower of the Tx or Rx primary data rate,
according to the table below, limits the maximum baud rate. Both Tx and Rx framing must be set
to ESC++. See
Chapter 12. ESC++
for more information on ESC++ framing.
