SUPERVISOR Messages
SUPERVISOR Messages
This section contains the supervisor ASIC message. This ASIC controls the CPU and the switch send
and receive ports.
Error Message
SUPERVISOR-3-FATAL: [chars].
Explanation
This message means that an internal error occurred in the supervisor ASIC. [chars] is
the detailed error message.
Recommended Action
Copy the message exactly as it appears on the console or in the system log.
Research and attempt to resolve the error by using the Output Interpreter. Use the Bug Toolkit to
look for similar reported problems. If you still require assistance, open a case with the TAC, or
contact your Cisco technical support representative, and provide the representative with the gathered

This section contains the supervisor queue messages. These messages are related to CPU send and
receive queues.

SUPQ-3-THROTTLE_CPU_QUEUE: Invalid application ID [dec] used for
throttling.
Explanation
This message means that an application has passed an invalid application ID for throttle
check. [dec] is the internal application identifier.
