Replacing the Cartridge
When the level of toner is low, a message
appears as shown. You can continue printing,
but you should prepare a new cartridge.
When the screen shown appears, follow the
directions on the screen, and the following
procedure, to change the cartridge. If you
want to change the cartridge later, press the
[Recover Later] key. Even if the cartridge is
empty, you can still process Copy jobs by the
Remote Copy function, or process Send jobs.
After the job is finished, go to the Status
screen, then to the Device screen and press
the [No toner] key. Follow the instructions in
the touch panel display for changing the
cartridge.
WARNING
• Do not throw a cartridge into open
flames as this may cause the toner to
ignite and result in burns or a fire.
IMPORTANT
• For high-quality copies and printouts,
Canon cartridges are recommended.
