Loading Paper
Precautions About Paper
IMPORTANT
• The following paper should not be loaded in the paper drawers:
- Severely curled paper
- Wrinkled or creased paper
- Thin paper (Paper less than 16-lb. bond (60g/m
2
))
- Color printed paper (including paper printed on the reverse side)
- Paper printed on thermal transfer printers (including paper printed on the reverse side)
- Torn paper
- Carbon paper
- Coated paper
• Follow these simple rules when you handle and load paper in the paper drawers or stack bypass:
- Never use moist paper or paper that has been folded, clipped, or stapled, or paper that is
perforated.
- Leave unused paper in its wrapper, and store it in a dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Never mix different types of paper when you load the paper drawers or the stack bypass.
- Before you load fresh paper, always wait until the paper drawer or stack bypass is empty. To avoid paper
jams, do not add fresh paper to paper already loaded in the paper drawer or stack bypass.
