Clearing Paper Jams
Locating a Paper Jam
If a paper jam occurs, a display will appear in the touch panel display. This display indicates the
location of the paper jam. This paper jam location display will be followed by a display with instruc-
tions on how to remove the jammed paper. This display will repeatedly appear in the touch panel
display until the jammed paper has been entirely removed.
Inspect and clear the paper path at all locations shown in the touch panel display. For instructions
on locating paper jams and removing jammed paper in each part of the machine, read the rest of
this section.
If you want to remove the jammed paper later,
press the [Recover Later] key. This will enable
you to process Copy jobs with the Remote Copy
feature, or to process Send jobs. If the paper
jam occurs during scanning, you can still
perform Remote Copy functions, Send function,
and print received documents stored in a box.
After those jobs are finished, go to the Status
screen, open the Device screen, and press the
[Paper Jams] key, then follow the instructions in
the touch panel display to remove the jammed
paper. If the [Recover Later] key does not
appear, remove the jammed paper first before
going on to process other operations.
