Replacing the Cartridge 1-22

Open the top cover.

Grasp the cartridge by the grip area
with both hands. Raise the grip end up
slightly and pull the cartridge out to
remove it from the printer unit.
WARNING
• When removing a used cartridge from
the printer unit, remove the cartridge
carefully to prevent toner from scatter-
ing and entering your eyes or mouth. If
toner enters your eyes or mouth, wash
immediately with cold water and con-
sult a physician.

Remove the new cartridge from its pro-
tective wrapper. Save the protective
wrapper for later when you need to
remove the cartridge from the printer
unit.
IMPORTANT
• The cartridge is sensitive to light. If the
cartridge is removed for maintenance or to
move the machine, it should be wrapped
in the original protective wrapper.
